Application Discovery “Add to new application” is greyed out in Global Secure Access
If you notice that “+ Add to new application” and “+ Add to an existing application” are greyed out under Global Secure Access in the Microsoft Entra Portal, here is how to resolve the issue:
- Confirm that your application IP or FQDN are explicitly defined in the Quick Access app segment. Examples:
- FQDN Wildcard domain. The wildcard should be sufficient if you want to filter by FQDN. Note that the format must be written as *.mycompany.com:
- You can also include CIDR ranges or a specific resource FQDN:
2. Generate some new traffic accessing the applications (accessing resource, file share, etc).
3. Applications should appear under Application discovery. You will need to explicitly check the box next to the application in order for the buttons to ungrey.
4. Validate that you are signed in with an Application Administrator, Global Secure Access Administrator, or Global Administrator Role.
The options to “Add to new application” or “Add to an existing application” should no longer be greyed out!
